Change the Way You See Bullying
"Fearful, terrifying, unforgiving,andworld-changing," these are some adjectives to describe a place. that's allaround this country and all around the world. It's very dangerous, yet it is somandatory.
What I'm talking about, obviously, is highschool.
On the surface, it's a great place. Itteaches the youth, and even the elderly, brand new ideas and concepts that canchange the world for the better.
But there is a plague going around that hasbeen terrifying youth and even more people. Over the decades, it has gotten evenworse and worse, affecting even more and more people. It changes high school andthe world for the worse.
What I'm saying is bullying.
People hear "bullying" and think, "Yes,it's bad, and we need to stop it." But have you really seen an end to it?
What I want say is that it's a really badtopic because it affects so much. It doesn't just affect the person; it affectstheir family, their friends, the school, the country, and obviously, the world,if it gets too out of hand, which it obviously has.
Over 160,000 people stay home from schoolevery year in America alone because they are so scared of their perpetrators hurtingthem, making them feel like they're living in a living-hell.
Because they have this concept that theywant to hurt you, because they know that you're weak to them. That's about fourtimes a completely filled US cellular stadium, which holds about 40,615 seats.
That entire stadium times four is how manypeople are just so scared that they'd rather miss out on their education, messup their GPAs, SAT scores, ACT scores, and completely throw their lives away.
But sometimes, they are the lucky ones. Becau搜索引擎优化ver 4,400 people die by committing suicide for untreated causes of bullying. Theyget so much attacked that these bullies have affected their lives so much thattheir only option is to turn to suicide in their heads.
Well, that's not true, but some otherphysical illnesses for the victims are IBS, a colon disease, immune systemsuppression, numbness, aches, pains, and panic attacks. It might be surprising, but also the bully has many things that they can suffer from physically, suchas they abuse drugs and alcohol more, they tend to be addicts at a much youngerage, they commit more crimes, and have a much bigger and much more recentcriminal record.
And they tend to have more underage sex, whichcan also lead to teen pregnancies. maybe abortions, and continues the cycle ofa broken home, because they don't know how to properly care for somebody else, becauseall they know is how to hurt.
Some of the mental illnesses that a victimcan feel are depression, they can have more anxiety than normal, and a generalfeeling that they're worthless. They get bombarded with these words and actionssaying that they are not worth it, they are worthless, they are never going tobe capable of anything, when it's the exact opposite.
It's that they are not given a chance. Peoplethrive in a place that they're brought up on, they're complimented, and peoplewant to hear their voices. But in places where they're constantly being shutdown, attacked verbally, most even cyber with their phones and computers, theycan't get away from it.
The bully also has physical illnesses thatthey suffer from too. They are more irritable, they get angry a lot faster, andthey have a general dominating personality. Again, to the broken homes, theyhave been hurt from a young age and since they see their parents hurting people, and all they know is pain, they grow up thinking, "I want to hurt you becauseI'm sick of being hurt. I want to hurt you because I'm done being the one beinghurt. I want to do the hurt because I have seen my parents do it, so whynot?"
But that's not the case. They are nevergiven the chance to see how to truly act with people. They constantly thinkthat it's OK to basically kill somebody with suicide.
The most common form of bullying isobviously verbal because it's sadly the most effective at times. If they areconstantly being attacked by these words, saying that they will never accomplishanything, and that they are worthless, ugly, a whore, or something, they thinkthat, and it embeds it into their minds, that they are all of those things whenit's never true.
These people just want a reaction from thevictim when they just don't know how to get the love from the home. That'swhere it all starts.
Now, three ways to end this, or to seek helpis to: one, stand up for yourself. If you're being attacked by a bully, youhave to show them that you are strong, you're an independent person, and thatyou control your life. Nobody else controls it, especially not somebody who isso worthless that they have to hurt others to make themselves feel good.
The second is to seek a professional, suchas a counselor, a teacher, or even parents because most of them have spent theirlives treating cases like these, and they know how to properly treat it to makeyou feel better about life.
The third is generally the hardest, and oneI have personally used. It's where you just have an "eh" personality.
What I mean is, whenever you're beinginsulted, or any kind of light physical abuse, you just brush it off. It mightseem weird, but imagine if you're trying to hurt somebody, and you can see thatyour insults basically slide away and they do nothing, how are you going to geta negative reaction?
Like standing up for yourself, you're notgiving the bully any sort of reaction. They know that they can just turn away becausethey're not going to hurt you.
A while ago, one of my friends, a reallyclose friend, around eighth grade,恒峰娱乐, has attempted suicide quite a few times becauseshe has been abused, hurt by her boyfriends, and even her schoolmates. Me andmy other friends have had to help her seek professional help and from theschool because we know that these bullies don't care about her when, really, all of us do, and we should try to care for them.
If you can see how the world would bewithout bullying, imagine the higher SAT scores, the higher test scores, orGPAs; what does that mean? Kids are learning better from a younger age, so theygrow up knowing what's right and what to do. They grow up being more social, theycan interact with other people. They can spread their ideas much easier.
How would the world change for the better, ifyou don't have to worry about your children being hurt, called names, or evenkilled because they commit suicide?
How much better would the world be withoutthese types of people?
Think about that，next time you're going to insultsomebody because you want to look cool on the Internet.
